Fasting Month

As we all Malaysian know, now is the fasting period for the Muslims. As a matter of respect, other people may need to avoid eating or drinking water in front of them. Of course, I will not eat in front of them but I still need to drink water in the PG room (it's an air-cond. room, the air dried up sooner than outside environment bah!). Recently, some of them (my collegues in the room) are talking about delicious kuih in the room. They even described the "deliciousness" about the kuih. So, is that meant they actually didn't care that people eating or drinking in front of them? Hmm...wondering.

p/s: plz forgive me to use broken english in tis post. Again, i'm blogging in PG room, hehe +_+

Postgraduate Room

Time flies and now is my 3rd semester for my master study. At last, I got the funding from UPM - GRF. This means that I have to record my attendance by punching a card at faculty. Since I stay very near to faculty, my supervisor gave me the option to be based in campus or home ^^ (she really treat me well in this matter). Then, I chose to stay in campus since I need to assist in teaching for one of her lecture. So, I will have a place at the postgraduate room in faculty.

After I get the permission from the Pejabat Am, the pegawai there assign a place in the room that I didn't expected to be assigned. At first, I think it as an opportunity for me to get to know more postgraduates other than a few students under the supervision of my supervisor. However, that place was still crowded with the belongings of previous RA and the corresponding supervisor. The environment in the room is just like the office, with separators among the tables. I felt uncomfortable with it but I still able to tolerate with it. Suddenly I had a feeling of being an OL, whom is going to work in office.

However, when my senior later knew that I was placed at the different room with her, she immediately suggested me to change to the room she stays. The reason is I have no friends there (I think that I can make friends there). Since that, I got it changed to her room. The place at the room now is more spacious than the previous one because there are no separators among the tables. So, everybody can speaks to everybody in the room (soemtimes even "cross-chatting") and everybody can see what other people are doing at their place. Wow, felt awkward. May be I'm not used to this "open space" because I'm not that expert to hide my facial expression. I afraid that it will upset other people around. It becomes hard especially when we want to have some privacy at our place. Inversely, it's good to comprehend other person better, through their ways they behave.

The open space may be good in long time. May be I just need some time to get used to the environment there, an "open office".

"This is my dream. I *make* the path."

...... quoted from "Alice In Wonderland" by Tim Burton.

These words struck my mind. Alice said this when she decided to rescue Mad Hatter, who was caught instead of her. I was touched (><) by Alice's courage to face the danger and risk to be caught by the Red Queen.

Yes, I should make my path to pursue my dream. There will be a lot of risk and uncertainty but it is worth to do so once in a lifetime. ^^ Be brave.

Just realised...

At last, I realised the reason of my senior's saying about my advisor. Well, she is strict because she has high expectation on her students but at the same time her students may not be able to achieve it at the moment.

The thesis writing remind me of the composition writing. Composition is the weakest part of my English subject at school. This weakness will follow me as long as I did not take initiatives to improve it. Haiz...I think I better start to take action on it now. Practice makes perfect.

Although I'm a bit frustrated with the comment from my advisor this morning but somehow it motivated me. Hope that it will not turn up to be stress at the end. I need to keep in mind that I have both the strength and weakness. Sharpen my strength and improve my weakness is my vital mission now.

Gambatte!!

Photographs - Places

There are a lot of moments that inspired me to take photographs with certain reasons. While I was sorting out the photos which were taken using my mobile phone, I found out some interesting photos to be shared.

Part I: Places

1) A place that I used to stay & spend most of my loneliness days (for almost 1 semester). After that I moved to another place opposite this flat. 2)The lecture halls that I used to go and have lectures or tests (sometimes fall zzzz...). 3) A tree in front of a bus stop that I frequently went for waiting a bus in UPM.4) The beautiful tree that I like the most in UPM which is located opposite my faculty. The leaves were not only green in colour but there were a few colours that made it unique. 5) The path that I usually walk to go to my faculty in UPM. Leaves fall down from the trees beside the path when strong wind blows prior to the rain. 6) Part of my faculty view, took from the place I stay now.
These places are meaningful to me when I'm studying in UPM because these are some of the places that I left most of my footprints on it when I was an undergraduate ^^
Do you notice that there is one common thing that exists in each of the photos above? I meant something other than the buildings.
